Born in Porto Alegre, Southern Brazil, and now a resident of Cleveland, Ohio, her interests in photography and travel started in her early years. Travel has been a constant in her life, but she just recently took photography seriously. She describes herself as a world photographer due to her large array of interests. Her main subjects are found in nature, followed by travel, nature close-up, still life, and fine art.
Even more recently, she has forayed in wedding photography and portraiture, which to her own surprise, she found very rewarding.
Martins writes articles on Travel within Brazil and Brazilian culture for Brazil Explore magazine based in Los Angeles and contributes to The Brazilian Pacific Times newspaper in San Diego, California.
She is currently planning photographic expeditions to the Amazon, Pantanal, other national parks, and the coastal regions of her home country, Brazil.
