Vertical Kampong
Vertical Kampong or Vertical Kampung(VK) 垂直甘榜 is a new initiative by the National Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre (NVPC) to build and inculcate community-based volunteerism in Singapore. Translating the value of volunteerism down to its basic building block, Vertical Kampong aims to bring back the old Kampong Spirit when our local communities subscribed to mutual help and advocated friendliness and kinship throughout the neighbourhood. We hope to grow the volunteering spirit or kampong spirit 甘榜精神 through informal means of helping one another in places where people live, work and play. These include HDB flats, private residential estates, schools or where communities gather.
