Symptoms Of Aspergers
Asperger syndrome is characterized as a predominant shortage of social interaction, unusual interests, and patterns of non-existant communicative skills. The is a similarity of Asperger syndrome and autism manifests itself in the same nature of social problems, as well as the presence of a very narrow range of stereotyped interests, however, in contrast to autism, Asperger's syndrome is not observed a general lag in speech and cognitive development, skills and self-adaptation (not related to social interaction), and there is no lack of interest in the outside world. In many cases, Asperger's Syndrome is also noted the lag in passing through the main phases of motor development (delayed motor milestones) and the insufficient development of the coordination of movements (motor clumsiness), although these symptoms of Aspergers are not crucial for the diagnosis of Asperger syndrome. This reflects the difference between Asperger syndromes from autism, in which motor development in young children is relatively normal. In many respects, Asperger syndrome and autism manifest themselves in a similar manner. For example, one study revealed only minor differences between persons suffering from Asperger's syndrome and autism. In individuals with autism, there was a serious lag in language development, but almost 43% of people with Asperger's syndrome, also encountered lag in language acquisition. Children with Asperger's exhibit a higher level of speech development, less lag behind in learning the language and show great interest in social contacts. In general, a person suffering from Asperger's syndrome, tend to be self-centered, socially adjusted, and tend to have narrowly focused interests of the abstract, so that they seem bizarre. In terms of their hobbies may include information about the weather, television stations or maps, which they memorize mechanically, almost without understanding its meaning. Another typical clinical symptom of Asperger syndrome are clumsy, poorly coordinated movements and odd postures. Children with Asperger's do not show empathy, demonstrate the inadequate and one-way form of social interaction, as a rule, are not able to form friendships, and prone to social isolation. Other characteristic manifestations are poorly developed non-verbal communication skills, a dry pedantic speech and a penchant for endless arguments on topics that are of no interest to anyone from the others. In older children and adults with Asperger syndrome, with pronounced problems in the development of speaking skills and other skills related to the pragmatic use of language (pragmatic abilities), although these violations do not affect other aspects of speech development.
